Think about Bloor Kingswood Heath
It’s been a long and emotional 6 months in our new home at Bloor Kingswood Heath. I say emotional not in the way it should be, joy and excitement but instead stress, anxiety and disappointment courtesy of Bloor Homes.
As someone who has bought two other new build properties, I can honestly say that this, if Trust Pilot did minus star ratings, I’d be on Bloors page now.
Ok, before we go any further, lets clarify some things that I think are important.
We paid full asking price
There were no incentives
So, you can see that I have high expectations. We weren’t lucky, neither should we be made to feel grateful. It is your job as the reader to decide if my expectations are wrong and that I have got what I paid for, after all, that is all I want.
So, sit back and enjoy the ramblings of someone who has had nine months dealing with Bloor and six months in one of their homes.
Oh wait, where do I start?
6 weeks in Bloor Kingswood Heath
I think this was our lowest point where asking for our money back seemed like a good idea. Even my prosecco didn't sparkle..
Yes, 6 weeks in and there was a period of days where we only had gas, water and electricity. Even I can’t believe my marriage lasted through this period but it’s true. In a desperate bid to get us moved in, Bloor overlooked the process of finishing the development.
It was at this point that I decided to share my Bloor/Poor experience. I will do my best to keep it interesting and factual. I will not name any names (except Bloor obviously), however, I will say this. The best people on the site have the least influence or say and the ‘management’ use them to poor effect. While I have tried to not name names but will here.
So, it’s nothing personal. This is just how I feel and this website is how I choose to communicate my feelings. Call it a modern day pub chat with pictures.
This happened just days before they moved in!!
This makes some of my issues seem minor. One Sunday afternoon this simply fell off the house. The workman used the ‘wrong fixings’…
It's good to share...
My Bloor Kingswood Heath Blog
In what I can only describe as the biggest lack of marketing targeting in history. Bloor have just put a leaflet through my door asking if I miss that ‘new home feeling’? I have only just over my ‘new home’ feeling and hope that I never experience a Bloor one again. Yes, the £1000 voucher
VLog of a homeowners opinion at Bloor Kingswood Heath I bet that if you went into the Bloor Kingswood Heath office and said “but, what about that website?”, they would say something like “oh, that’s a one-off or dismiss it as nothing to take notice of. However, they would be wrong and Ellen tells her
You’d be forgiven for thinking this is an ambitious shot from an eager homebuyer who has snuck into their new home while in the process of construction. However, you would be very wrong. In this case, the keen photographer had actually been living in this home for just under 2 years! Yes, this week, all
First off, you must understand my position on this post. It has little to do with the centre itself as it was there long before I decided to move here. They do some exceptional work troubled individuals and I have the highest respect for them and what they do for our society. However, there used
I did start to wonder if people may have thought that it was just me that has experienced these problems. Well, sadly it is not and if you visit our community facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/157705354951786/ You will see that I am not alone. A group that should have been all about how lovely it is
Well, we moved in nearly two years ago and thanks to the persistence of one of our neighbours, they have planted a small forest outside our house. I say forest but I mean three trees in the most bizarre formation. I have told my children that when their children visit, they may be able to
When I built this site I knew it wouldn’t be long before this corporate giant awoke and took notice. Well, they have and I wasn’t prepared for the reaction. In a bid to starve us from daylight Bloor have got together with Bellway and started to construct a fortress of signs outside our house…
Little things that are annoying like this are starting to happen… We opted for the waterfall shower which was a waste of money as they water pressure is so low it’s more of a light drizzle than a show. I do not feel invigorated after more depressed at the experience. Our shower head developed a
Friday 25th saw the final piece of work completed on my Bloor Kingswood Heath home. It’s either an amazing coincidence or indication of the year we have had that Friday also marked our 1st year living in this property. Yes, we have been here for 1 whole year, and the work has just finished. Is the
Well, you can’t make an omelette without breaking some eggs and in this case, it looks like someone wants my site down more than I thought. Yes folks, in a crude attempt to cause some mischieve this website was hacked. However, no real harm done. So, for the time been when someone googles Kingswood Heath, we
Family room roof The roof has a distinct lip on one side which I do not accept as design. Rear Lawn We paid £750 for a lawn which I expect to drain and to be flat. Our lawn is shocking and needs re laying. Front Communal Area I want this area ‘landscaped’ as it was
So, here we have a great example of what its like when you ask for help but get fobbed off… I have pointed out that the roof above my french doors flares up as per the picture. The people who laid the roof tiles came out and blamed the people laid the bricks. The people
Ok, so lets have a little New Year catch up. You have seen the six month list which we did in November, well you wont be surprised that not much has changed but lets not be down. The wonky roof has still not been dealt with because Bloor are blaming the Brick people and the
Call it slander, malicious, call it what you want. I will argue this all the way… So, you build a structure that is not sturdy enough to maintain its own weight and wobbles; what do you do? You send someone out to put gallows up but they work themselves loose and are deemed by Bloor
Firstly, yes I have better things to do. Bloor Kingswood Heath Trustpilot review My life is full of some really lovely people, and this is what is important. However, Bloor continues to do wrong by myself and my new friends, and it is just not fair. Why should we suffer to preserve the profits and
So, following up from yesterday’s post. fenwick have followed up with an email which really underlines a culture of the ‘customer comes first’. I have been left under no illusion that my complaint is in the right hands and although no fault of Fenwicks, they have taken 100% of the responsibility. Yes, Fenwick also use third
Today I witnessed something truly impressive. The story starts when we bought a table at Fenwicks of Colchester, it’s dead nice and we are very happy with it. Well, we were until we opened it out to its maximum size and we found it had discolored considerably. So, on Sunday I sent the store an email
Didnt catch their names but we had the ‘brick people’ round yesterday and whilst we got off to a frosty start they turned out to be very helpful. It turns out that my house didn’t get its brickwork cleaned which is why it is covered in cement. Perhaps Bloor Kingswood Heath were too busy to notice
Notice the stripes in our communal green (refuse to call it a lawn)? Well, you can just about make them out through the leaves and that’s because when they cut the lawn they didnt put a bag on the back of the lawnmower so it just cut the grass and scattered the cuttings and leaves. However,
Ok, so Bloor contacted the roofers to come and visit the property after I registered my issue with the roofline to the back of the house. Predictably, the roofers came out and have passed the blame on the construction under the tiling which is the reason the tiling isn’t straight. I did explore the avenue of
It’s been a whole year since Bloor launched the Kingswood Heath development. Yep, our good friends the Dolbys sent us an email with the launch details and we went over to the launch event after picking a plot that we wanted. At this time we had reserved at Chesterwell and was due to complete the reservation
Ok, so the situation is this; Everyone’s TV and satellite services are down. Yes, everyones. Would you consider this something worth acting on immediately? Baring in mind you have everyone’s email addresses, would you send out an email apologising and explaining what is being done about it? Yes, you probably would but this Bloor and they do
It would seem that every few weeks the generator that powers our communal satellite dish breaks. Today is one of those days and I am sure that we can look forward to many more of these distributions until Bloor invests in a backup solution. Is it too much to ask to have TV? Perhaps I
Cant think of a picture to go with this post but I have just had a really nice professional reply from Bloor, as the title says, I’m impressed, to say the least. Of course, I’m now going to ruin this with satire but the sentiment means well. My analogy is this, if you have been
A point of amusement at Bloor Kingswood Heath. As a marketing person, my job often involves working websites, in fact, I work on them everyday, and I LOVE MY JOB. I take pride in seeing how well my sites are doing when it comes to google so they are seen by as many people as possible.
Bloor Kingswood Heath – A new build buyers summary! After looking how big this Bloor Kingswood Heath website has become, I thought it might be a good idea to summarise my thoughts. Furthermore, I can’t imagine why anyone would want to read the whole thing. So, if you feel inclined please have a read because
So let’s be positive because we have a lot to be pleased about. In particular, we have the very best neighbours and community spirit. I literally couldn’t be happier with how the close has come together with everyone being friendly and looking out for each other. We have already enjoyed some really good times and I
Very brief meeting followed up by an email 18 days later… Dear Mark Apologies for the delay in responding to you. Following I discussion on site regarding the land outside of the fenced area. As you may recall we discussed whether a tree should be erected in the square area of grass. I suggested
Good Afternoon Mr Ninnim Further to my telephone call earlier, I have raised a job ticket for PMC Landscaping to inspect the poorly fitted fencing . I have instructed them to contact you directly and they have 5 working days to do so. Neil Perkins, the contracts manager has advised that the land in front
Hello Please can you give me an update on the points that have been raised to date. Thank you Dear Mr Ninnim As previously advised your matters are being looked into. Steve August is on annual leave so we will be unable to get an update until he returns on 17th August. Ashley advises
Hi Steve Hope this email finds you well. Big win getting the Broadband working and this has changed the way I view the home as it is now somewhere I can work. Despite the Wi-Fi offering, my initial 6 weeks has put me to a financial inconvenience which I will present to you when I
Hi All, So, looking forward to Broadband tomorrow as promised by Sales Director. Shame, she didn’t have time to call. I got part of my EE bill through yesterday which was for £120 and covered only part of the month, it continues to climb and today I have had to drive to my head office
Hi Please can you advise if there is somewhere on site to dispose of rubbish? We’ve been here for nearly a month, the least Bloor can do is lay on a skip. Thanks Mark Good morning Mark, We had been assured that Colchester Borough Council would have a manager call us on Friday to
Dear Mr Ninnim Steve August instructed me to coordinate maintenance regarding a faulty door lock in your property. Can you let me know if Thursday 24th August at 2pm is a convenient time for our operative to attend? Please note we can only hold provisional appointments for 48 hours and these have to be confirmed by return
Hi xxx Hope you are enjoying the sun. Has the box being built as this was supposed to be end of this week/today. Can we still expect connection within the next week? Thanks Mark Morning The box has been built and BT are scheduled for Monday, 26th June, to start connecting and testing the
Hi FYI but please pass to the relevant party within Bloor. Had someone round today who has confirmed what IFNL had confirmed and that is there is an issue with the fibre for my plot. Apparently, someone needs to check the underground connections and this should identify the issue. Shame really as Sky are due
Hey all So the tally is this: No TV No Broadband No Phone And now No Post, yes you guessed it, we have to collect our mail from the sorting office. It is true that third word countries have better connections to the outside world than Kingswood Heath. Oh and you will love this, you
Hi All, To date, I have enjoyed a very positive experience with my Bloor purchase but I fear that this could be tested as we approach completion. I hope this is proven wrong and will remain positive with the hopes of a smooth completion process. (smiley face). However, completion delays, confirmed delays of utilities and
Well, to tell the truth this was depressing. Creating our list was painful as the more we looked, the more we saw examples of poor workmanship that had clearly been rushed. For more images please see our 10 day page. Summary I would like to make a number of observations which for lead me to
So, remember how we had to do the all-important 7 day prior to moving in visit to identify all things we were not happy with? Well, not one of them had been done… We were delighted to get the keys but disappointed at the same time. Clearly, this property had no final quality checks.
Bad day for our car. So, we went for our site visit which was dead exciting. I must admit, I didn’t think we would be driving down to the house on a road that was barely fit for an 18 wheeler. Neither did our car, as our suspension immediately sprung a leak resulting in two rear
Hi Mark Your Inspection is booked in for 1.30pm with Ashley on Friday. You are on a 7 day notice so on Friday you should have the competition date confirmed to you via your solicitor. Please call Catie at TSP, if you have questions with regards to this. Hartwood Carpets will need to come at
Some of these quotes brought laughter and tears but mainly laughter..
